Village Sauna: Public Smoke Sauna Sessions at Linnakallio

Savua virtaa ulos saunasta lämmityksen lopuksi. Kohta sauna on valmis.

Linnakallio’s smoke sauna offers public sessions twice a week – every Wednesday and Sunday – throughout the year. Welcome to enjoy the Villa Sauna and meet both locals and visitors from further afield!

The Village Sauna sessions always begin at 5:30 pm. The sauna remains hot for several hours – usually around 4–5 hours – depending on the number of bathers and how much water is thrown on the stones. You can therefore arrive at any time that suits you during the evening.

There is no need to register in advance for the public sessions. The sauna can accommodate approximately 30 people. Please note that we always recommend booking a private sauna session for groups.

A dip in our crystal-clear, spring-fed forest pond completes the sauna experience. In winter, you can refresh yourself with a cold dip in the pond. The large, covered terrace offers plenty of seating for relaxing and taking a drink break between rounds in the sauna.

Additional Smoke Sauna Sessions

In addition to Wednesday and Sunday evenings, our smoke sauna is occasionally heated on other days as well. Several additional sessions are planned around Christmas and New Year, for example. Further details will be published here closer to the time.

Payment

The public sauna session costs €10 for adults and €6 for children under the age of 12. Payment is made on site by MobilePay, cash or card. Mineral water is also available to purchase at the sauna.

Information for Sauna Guests

  • Our sauna is mixed-gender, and swimwear must be worn. Please bring your own swimsuit or swimming trunks.
  • There are separate changing rooms for women (downstairs) and for men (upstairs).
  • You may arrive at any time during the public session. However, please do not enter the sauna before the official starting time, as the stove and stones need time to produce the best possible heat. Entering too early may reduce the heat available for guests arriving later.
  • The character of the löyly – the heat and steam created by throwing water on the sauna stones – changes throughout the evening, from stronger heat at the beginning to softer and gentler heat later on. Pour the water slowly into one spot among the stones. Please use the warm water from the tanks built into the sauna stove.
  • There is no shower at the sauna. Hot water is available from the sauna’s water cauldron and can be mixed with cold pond water to make warm rinsing water.
  • Separate outdoor toilets for women and men are located next to the sauna.
  • If you are visiting us for the first time, you can find the location on our area map. In brief: after passing through Linnakallio’s main gate, turn left and follow the gravel road for approximately 400 metres to the sauna. There are two parking areas next to the sauna.

Welcome to enjoy our beloved smoke sauna!
